Since the moment I first picked up a camera 25 years ago I wanted to photograph people. Portraits are a passion for me, and over a year ago I started a personal project to photograph a portrait a week for a year! It was a wonderful adventure, taking me to the backstage area of the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden to the farmyards of Normandy,France. I met such interesting characters and learnt some inspiring life stories. The project has rolled on and it taught me to be bold and ask total strangers if I can shoot their portraits!

Photographing a portrait is so much more then simply pressing a shutter, it is about photographing more than just someone’s face but getting their essence, their personality into one shot. I am always on the look out for interesting people!
